Exclusive: Christmas Spitfire Jumper £45 made in the UK using recycled cotton and plastic bottles

This year’s Christmas Jumper from Imperial War Museum will be available to buy online and on-site shops from September

Imperial War Museums (IWM) Shop is launching all new and exclusive Christmas Spitfire gift ranges this September. These products will be available to buy both online and in on-site shops in time for Christmas.

The Spitfire is one of the most famous aircraft of the Second World War and is seen as a symbol of victory in Britain. IWM Shop’s 2023 Christmas Jumper celebrates this icon, launching in September. Exclusively designed by IWM and made in the UK, the jumper is made from sustainable recycled cotton and plastic bottles.

David Fenton, Head of Retail and Admissions at the Imperial War Museums said,

“Our Christmas jumpers, made in England using sustainable fabrics, have become an instant best- seller. We create a new design each year in limited edition and last year sold out completely by October. I have to say, I think this is our best one yet!”

All the items on sale at IWM this Christmas have a story and are inspired by the collections – for example, the Spirit of 1940 Spitfire Cufflinks are crafted from the metal of a genuine Spitfire – the MKII P7350 - which is operated by the RAF’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and is the oldest flying spitfire in the world. Complimentary exclusive Spitfire gifts will also be available, including a hot water bottle cover, socks and a range of hand-made decorations, all inspired by this year’s Santa in a Spitfire design.
