National Portrait Gallery launches capsule home accessories collection using the Gainsborough fabric from its new Gallery walls

The National Portrait Gallery, which reopened on 22 June 2023, has launched a celebratory capsule collection ‘Enfilade’ of ultra-limited-edition cushions, throws, quilts, and table runners using offcuts from the fabrics that line its new Gallery walls.

Designed as ‘collector’s items of the future,’ each piece in the range which spans large and medium sized throws, cushions and a table runner is limited in number and inspired by the bold colour combinations on the walls of the new third floor gallery spaces – an Enfilade – a visual feast for the visitor with multiple colorways to be viewed at once.

The collection is made using the 100% wool camlet fabric that lines the new walls from British heritage brand, Gainsborough in collaboration with social enterprise, Fabric Works. Each piece has been numbered at Fabric Works’ East London studio using specially designed hand embroidered labels.
