British multidisciplinary artist Lora Avedian is to create a series of immersive painted murals using Graphenstone, the world's most certified eco paint at The Chelsea Flower Show – a new approach by Colicci, the artisan brand of cafe’s, restaurants, and kiosks to connect the shows horticulture to the food villages – sustainably.
The Graphenstone murals are inspired by edible planting and herbs and will be part of a design scheme created by Article Design Studio for Colicci who have been awarded the exclusive public catering rights at the world’s most prestigious horticulture show.
Lora Avedian, a QEST craft scholar, graduated from a Masters in Mixed Media Textiles from the Royal College of Art in 2017 and translates her playful drawings through textiles and paper collage and has created limited edition collections for the V&A, The New Craftsmen and Fortnum & Mason and has worked for Alexander McQueen and JW Anderson.

The artworks which will be on repeat around the space were created from freehand drawings and made into a stencil depicting seasonal flowers and foliage. Each one will be depicted in a range of colours including Indian Terracotta, Highland, Sesame and Ebony.

The murals will sit alongside a variety of large scale floral and foliage installations and edible planters positioned throughout the food areas. Whilst emphasis has been placed on the aesthetic, the materials used across the scheme have been carefully considered for their sustainable credentials.”
