Merchant & Found brings you the Vintage Supermarket - 6,000 sq ft pop up in Soho for London Craft Week
Merchant & Found, the UKs leading online vintage furniture and lighting brand, is launching a 6000 sq ft Vintage Supermarket in Soho, London at the Vinyl Factory from 15-18th May.
Championing the legendary makers of vintage furniture and lighting and celebrating and championing the skill of contemporary makers in association with London Craft Week and Vinterior.
Merchant & Found has commissioned a diverse range of makers united by their use of primary natural materials, textiles, paper, glass, stone and wood whilst also highlighting a number of endangered heritage crafts.

Curated by designer and Dezeen Judge for 2024, Betsy Smith - a collection five years in the making, vintage in volume with wit and the unexpected.
A specially commissioned supermarket with original fixtures and signage including a butcher’s shop, brush department, fresh produce counter and a fish counter. With hand crafted produce which has been commissioned from a curated global group of artists and makers.
Daily supermarket trolley dashes (some with celebrities) with competitions and prizes to be won daily.
Rare variety Apple Bar and supermarket inspired café.
Confirmed Craft collaborations:
Jahday Ford
A recent graduate from Manchester School of Art specialising in hot glass and mould design. Jahday is driven to explore the material of glass and its behaviours with compatible materials in a digital world. At the supermarket, Jahday will put a contemporary take on the use of glass bottles as everyday vessels.
Jonny Tapp
Based in Bruton, Somerset, Johnny is a passionate craftsman bringing his love of wood, and quality handmade products together to produce exceptional but functional products.
Nick Malyon
Nick is one of a small band of highly skilled makers still producing
neon glass for signwriting and neon installations. The craft of neon sign writing recently joined the
register of endangered craft. Nick is a highly skilled maker who has produced works for many high
profile artists and has been commissioned to add a twist to the vintage cheese counter.
Marcia Bennett Male
Marcia Bennett Male is London born and based, with a workshop at the Thames-Side Studios in
SE18. A stone carver who uses all things culinary in her stone carvings and her work is a
perfectly natural fit to bring a three-dimensional angle to the Vintage Supermarket. Her love of using
recycled stone, sometimes from old buildings sites, adds further layers of meaning.
Clemence Joly
Clemence Joly lives and works in Paris. Clemence graduated as a graphic designer from Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Arts Appliques et des Metiers d’Art, and from the Chelsea School of Art and Central Saint -Martins. Clemence is an internationally renowned textile artist who has been commissioned to create a textile installation for the Vintage Supermarket
Hattie Newman
Hattie is originally from Devon and now works internationally creating, building and directing the most extraordinary works principally in paper. Hattie’s studio is a place where sketches and ideas come to life. Hattie has worked globally with many household names bringing their brands to life in a witty and unassuming way. Hattie has been commissioned to create a dedicated installation for the Vintage Supermarket.
Kate Jenkins
Kate is an internationally exhibited textile artist from Brighton. Her playful work is often food inspired, a playful world of pop-art crochet, knit and embroidery creations. Kate is best known for her trademark sense of humour with colourful yarns and lifelike creations.
Merchant & Found
Merchant & Found will be bringing the workshop team to the Vintage Supermarket. They have packed up their tools and workbenches and will be operating a pop up workshop where the team will be on hand to share expertise. The team will be holding workshops during the week covering all aspects of the work they do from fixing a wobbly chair to assembling and rewiring a vintage lamp.
